I recently bought a 2005 HAAS TM-1 that didn't have an umbrella tool changer. Fortunately, it had the machined mounting area at the top of the column for the tool changer arm. Unfortunately, HAAS won't sell you a tool changer for an open machine, even if you intend to close it. The Y Ballscrew Cover on the Haas TM-1 was damaged. Only the rear one needed replacement in my case, but that is the more difficult one to replace, because the Haas instructions say to remove the ballscrew and servo motor. I was using an inexpensive dust cyclone to filter the air coming out of the sandblast cabinet. The cyclone captured all the media and dust that escaped. I measured the efficiency of the cyclone at 98.6% for very fine dust. Its high efficiency worked very well to capture all the dust and blasting media before it reached the shop vacuum cleaner filter.
